Classical Chinese Medicine

Classical Chinese Medicine encompasses Classical styles of Acupuncture, Herbs, Essential Oils, Nutrition and Gemstones. Each of these modalities can be used alone to treat a patient, or combined for a profound integrative effect.

Nutrition is the pillar of Classical Chinese Medicine and must be personalized for each individual. No matter what treatment you receive, your health can only be sustained through minding your intake of food.

Essential Oils are a potent form of herbal medicine because they contain the essence of the plant which resonates directly with the essence of the human body.

‘Essence’ in Chinese Medicine, also referred to as the ‘Jing’, corresponds to the body’s deepest energetic level; the Constitutional Energetics. In scientific terms, Essence or Jing relates to the body’s genetic material and the DNA that controls regeneration and aging.

Essential Oil Therapy is ideal for addressing emotional and mental imbalances because they directly transmit through the olfactory system to impact the limbic brain where traumatic memories are stored.

Gems and stones are the most potent form of herbal medicine since they don't degenerate like plant and animal herbal sources. They therefore provide a more permanent form of healing.

Essential oils and gemstones allow patients to do home care so they can be directly involved in their healing process. They’re exciting approaches that powerfully and safely treat both acute and chronic conditions.

Classical Chinese Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient medical modality that dates back as far as 5,000 years. It involves the treatment of specific points along meridians in order to rebalance the Qi, or energy, and blood flow through the body and in the internal organs.

Classical Acupuncture is based on the original practices of this healing art form and differs greatly from today's modernized acupuncture practiced known as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which has become standardized in China and most acupuncture schools in the U.S.

Since TCM focuses on acupuncture point functions to alleviate symptoms, practitioners of this approach rely more on herbal medicine to help heal their patients on a deeper level.

Classical Acupuncture on the other hand is based on the principles of Meridian Energetics and takes a more holistic approach to balancing the body.

It can be used as a standalone system or as a complement to other forms of healthcare to get to the root imbalances causing symptoms.

Classical Acupuncture can treat a wide array of illnesses from pain and colds to autoimmune and gynecological disorders. The use of these treatments is tailored to each individual's needs and will leave you to feel strong, calm, and balanced.

Traditional Japanese Acupuncture

A rare, non-insertion form of Acupuncture also known as Japanese Meridian Therapy, this treatment uses Gold and Silver needles to lightly touch the skin's surface without insertion.

Traditional Japanese Acupuncture is highly effective in the treatment of pain and injury, as well as acute and chronic health disorders — with results that are often noticeable immediately.

This is a painless option that’s gentle enough for infants, children and people with needle phobia, and as a treatment used in conjunction with Classical Chinese Acupuncture.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • No. In our Santa Clara clinic, A Center for Natural Healing, we practice both Classical Acupuncture and Traditional Japanese Meridian Therapy, both of which are extremely gentle and very relaxing.

If you are hesitant to receive treatment with needles, you can try Japanese Meridian Therapy which is performed without needle insertion and is an extremely gentle treatment that is especially good for children, elderly patients and anyone with needle phobia.

  • Classical Acupuncture treats a wide range of disorders from the common cold, allergies, and pain all the way to gynecological disorders, mental and emotional disorders, sports injuries, hormonal imbalances and autoimmune diseases.

Acupuncture can also treat acute and chronic pain, neuropathy, autoimmune disorders, gastrointestinal issues – such as IBS, Crohn’s and colitis, infertility (male & female), insomnia, menstrual and menopausal disorders as well as prostatitis and erectile dysfunction

  • In its original form, Acupuncture is preventive medicine and can be used to rebalance the internal body to prevent disorders from manifesting. And besides its extraordinary health benefits, Acupuncture provides a calm, relaxing experience that helps free the body and calm the mind.

  • Healthy aging has to do primarily with the wellness of our bodies.

Do you notice how things feel like they ‘flare up’ when you’re under stress? These flare ups can be emotional or physical.

Inflammatory responses are the primary cause of disease that occur when emotions get lodged into the physical body causing pain, discomfort and disease. This often happens because the mind is unsettled, or if you carry grief, loss and anger from the past without properly dealing with or processing those feelings.

You’re probably holding something you haven’t processed in your body, whether the source of your trauma is purely physical, emotional, or a combination of the two. That's why it's crucial to release the tissues where we hold these unprocessed thoughts and emotions.

Acupuncture meridians in the body course through these tissues. By releasing these areas and freeing the body physically, we’re able to settle the mind, triggering the body’s natural healing process and thus preventing and even overcoming illness.

  • Acupuncture can be beneficial to treat and prevent symptoms and illnesses that you may not even think of to use Chinese Medicine to treat. If you're unsure of whether this is the right treatment for you, or have questions about how it may be used to treat your specific condition, you can email my team directly at info@setarehmoafi.com with further questions.
